Section 1

MISSION STATEMENT

The Northeastern Conference Soccer League (NECSL) is designed to be an integral part of the Northeastern Conference Youth Ministries department. It seeks to give each AY Society an opportunity to fellowship with other societies, demonstrate and foster Christian friendship through physical, social, mental and spiritual capabilities.

The league is also designed to assist the youth in striving for continuous improvement in the area of soccer, while ensuring that the integrity of the sport is maintained.

Section 2

GOALS AND OBJECTIVES

The NECSL is dedicated in assisting the Northeastern Conference Youth Department in ensuring that the young people have an additional sporting activity, which will impact on their total development.

             It's our desire that:

  • The youth participating develop an attitude of fair play and true sportsmanship;
  • The youth demonstrates God's love to others even when they have lost a game;
  • Each youth shows the Christian values and strength of character under pressure.
Section 3

THE COMMISSION

The Commission, chosen by the Northeastern Conference Youth Advisory Committee shall govern the Northeastern Conference Soccer League.  This Commission shall consist of:

  1. The Commissioner
  2. Area soccer Commissioner
  3. A Secretary
  4. A Treasurer
  5. Communications
  6. Auxiliary Commissioners as deem necessary 
  7. A  Pastor
  8. Any other Position deem necessary by the Commission

N. B. The Northeastern Conference Youth Director and Associate are ex-officio members of the Commission

NECSL DISCIPLINARY COMMITTEE

The committee shall be a section of the Commission. Each member will sit in judgment as it relates to disciplinary matters within the NECSL. All appeals/protest must go through the NECSL Commission; if the disciplinary action taken against a team, player or coach deems unsatisfying to them, they will then follow through with new and/or additional substantial evidence. The committee will review and make recommendation s to the Commission.

The commission shall represent the last avenue for all appeals and disputes on any disciplinary issues within the NECSL.

Section 4

STRUCTURE/REGISTRATION/MANDATE

The Structure of all NECSL tournaments shall be determined on the basis of number of teams registered. The NECSL Commission however, has the right to overhaul any structure within the current season if it is deemed necessary. The following shall serve as the basis for the structure:

  • All teams must register on or before the 2nd Sunday in March before the new season begins.
  • Teams who have not fully paid registration after the deadline will incur a $100 late charge.
  • Teams shall be made aware of the registration fee on or before the 2nd Sunday in November of the calendar year.
  • Teams and players shall be made aware of their approval to participate by the 2nd Sunday in April before the new season begins.
  • Teams will be made aware of their Division/Group on or before the opening of the new season.
  • The grace period to register additional players (if maximum hasn’t been reached as per registration info) will be on or before the 4th Sunday in the new season. Guidelines in relation to fees, etc will be enforced.
  • The NECSL season: 4th Sunday of April – 4th Sunday of August. If required – 1st or 2nd Sunday of September.

POINTS SYSTEM:

 Points shall be awarded as follows:

                                                             3 points for a win

                                                             2 points for a score draw

                                                             1 point for a goal less draw

 This is only applicable during the group/division stage of the season. No points shall be awarded during the playoff stage. Teams will progress only on a winning basis.

CONTACT INFORMATION

The NECSL season runs from April -September annually. Matches are scheduled on Sundays. However there may be matches on Saturday night's or other nights  base on availability of lighting facilities.
