Code of Conduct
The NECSL is dedicated to assist the Northeastern Conference Youth Department and its youth to engage in sporting activity.
It's our desire that:
*The youth participating can develop an attitude of fair play and true sportsmanship;
*The youth demonstrates God's love to other youth even when they have lost a game;
*Each youth who plays soccer emulates the Christian values and strength of character under pressure.
Conduct unbecoming of any player is defined as any conduct that:(a) Violates the Code of Ethics;(b) Is incompatible with the best interest of public, the church, the NECSL or his Team;(c) Tend to threaten, to harm the standing or reputation of the Team, the church & the NECSL that each player is representing;(d) Violates the rules of the North-Eastern Conference Soccer League (“NECSL”). To remain a player in the NECSL and a functioning member of any church Team, each player will be required to uphold all the provisions set forth in this document & and the NECSL rules including the affirmation stated below:
I will demonstrate the love of Christ by uplifting my teammates, avoiding the use of explicit language and uncouth behavior.
1.I will represent my church and team in a positive manner.
2.I will uphold the principles of the church on jewelry, dress and life style.
3.I will display good sportsmanship on and off the field.
4.I will support my teammates including recognition and acknowledgment of my teammates’ acceptable performance.
5.I will abide by, fulfill, and enforce all policies and procedures as set forth in NECSL handbook.
6.I will prepare myself to participate in all physical activities associated with my Team.
7.I will comply with the instructions that are given by the referees and his assistants, my Managers/Coach, Commissioners and Commission of the NECSL, as well as show respect for the opposing team.
8.I will always remember that I am part of an SDA church Team and the NECSL.
9.I will always remember that my actions hinder the efforts of my Team, in the forms of penalties and other disciplinary actions.
10.I will not take my team or the NECSL for granted.
11.I will be honest at all times.
12.I will actively pursue the goals that have been set for the NECSL and my Team.
13.I will communicate positively with my teammates and the NECSL Commission.
14.I will make a conscious effort to be an integral part of my team and strive for the betterment of the NECSL.
15.I will not usurp the authority of my coach/Manager, referees and assistant referees, area commissioner and any official of the NECSL.
16.I will remember to revisit this document on a regular basis.
17.I will not encourage guests and /or spectators, my team mates and /or coaches to be unruly and disrespectful to match officials, commissioners and players of opposing teams.
18.I will encourage my team to respect the code of conduct for each field of play and be mindful of the cleanliness of the field in use.
19.I will recognize the final decisions of the NECSL Commission, knowing that they have given me and my team the best consideration possible.
A violation of the Code of Ethics will result in disciplinary action against the offending player/member and /or team; the consequences of which shall be determined by the NECSL Commission. The consequences of violating the Code of Ethics include the following, or a combination of the following and the rules set in the NECSL hand book:
1.Monetary fine, (not to exceed $100) which will be determined by the NECSL Commission. Failure to pay any fine will result in immediate suspension from playing in an official game or games.
2.A written apology to the Team, Adventist Youth Leaders of each of the opposing other teams in question and the NECSL Commission.
3.Deduction of points from league cup and /or suspension from super cup or any other cups/tournament organized by the NECSL.
4.Teams and /or coaches are responsible for any suits and or damages incurred as a result of players conduct/ actions.
5.Teams and / or players suspended from any NESCL activities. Length of suspension shall be determined by the NECSL Commission.
Th The Code of Ethics is in effect from the moment a team and player is approved to participate in the NECSL soccer season.
I hI I've read the NECSL Code of Ethics outlining the league’s expectation of my conduct, and I am willing and able to faithfully execute the Code of Et ethics as is indicated by my signature below. I also understand that my failure to sign below is clear and convincing evidence that I will not be a approve to represent any church team in the NECSL season nor abide by the Code of Ethics.
